Safeguarding Social Worker – Staffordshire

37 Hours per week – Permanent |   £30,756 – £35,229 per annum

We have 18 safeguarding teams across the County and currently have full time Safeguarding Social Worker vacancies in Tamworth, Burton, Cannock, Codsall and North Staffordshire.  Please identify within your application which locations you are applying for.

Staffordshire is working in a more localised and co-ordinated way to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.  Families First is a new way of working that brings together the full range of front- line services that deliver to children, young people or their families.  Our children’s social work teams are a vital part of the new Families First Service, which, by investing in early intervention, frees the time of qualified social work professionals to support the most vulnerable families in the county.

You will be a qualified Social Worker, ideally with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience.  Your caseload will include the undertaking of Initial Visits, Child Social Work Assessments and S47 enquiries, the management of child in need and child protection plans and direct work with children.  Your role will include care proceedings work and some work with looked after children.

Making sure you are well supported and given the opportunity to develop and progress is a high priority at Staffordshire and is very important to us.  We have excellent staff development programme and good practice is recognised and rewarded.

Safeguarding Senior Practitioner, East Staffordshire

37 Hours per week – Permanent |   £36,153.00 – £39,961.00 per annum

Staffordshire County Council continues to undertake significant investment in its Children’s Social Care services known as Families First.

Staffordshire’s Families First is one of the largest Children’s Services in England and as a consequence there are excellent career opportunities for highly motivated and experienced staff to join a ‘Good’ Children’s Service.

You will be a qualified Social Worker, and must have a minimum of 2 year post qualification experience.  You will be responsible for managing complex cases and co-working cases with less experienced members of the team.  You will also take a lead role within the team for developing evidence based practice and sharing this with other staff.

Specialist Safeguarding Senior Practitioner

This is a new and exciting role; You will be a qualified Social Worker, and must have a minimum of 2 year post qualification experience.  You will be responsible for working closely alongside the CSE coordinator and Specialist Safeguarding Manager, this work will involve the oversight, review and management of children subject to child protection plan who move inside and outside of Staffordshire on both a temporary and permanent basis. This work may involve assisting safeguarding team to complete visits on behalf of other Local Authorities at times and provide advice and guidance regarding cross borders issues regarding these cross.

This role will also involve supporting the coordination of the CSE panels, offering advice and guidance from front door referrals and to teams within the authority. This role will work closely with other agencies and the police especially where there are complicated joint police investigations in place.
