Safeguarding Social Worker, Staffordshire

37 Hours per week – Permanent |   £30,756.00 – £35,229.00 per annum

We have 18 safeguarding teams across the County and currently have full time Safeguarding Social Worker vacancies in Tamworth, Burton, Cannock, Stafford, Codsall and North Staffordshire.  We also have a part time Safeguarding Social Worker vacancy in Newcastle under Lyme.  Please identify within your application which locations you are applying for.

Staffordshire is working in a more localised and co-ordinated way to ensure families receive the right help at the right time.  Families First is a new way of working that brings together the full range of front- line services that deliver to children, young people or their families.  Our children’s social work teams are a vital part of the new Families First Service, which, by investing in early intervention, frees the time of qualified social work professionals to support the most vulnerable families in the county.

You will be a qualified Social Worker, ideally with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience. Your caseload will include the undertaking of Initial Visits, Child Social Work Assessments and S47 enquiries, the management of child in need and child protection plans and direct work with children. Your role will include care proceedings work and some work with looked after children.

Safeguarding Social Worker – Care Planning & Court Teams

37 Hours per week – Permanent |   £30,756 – £35,229 per annum

Qualified Social Workers required for large, busy Care Planning and Court Teams based in Lichfield and Tamworth. The teams have a reputation for providing high quality support to our Looked After Children, and detailed analytical assessments, reports and evidence to the Courts. Safeguarding Senior Practitioner, Stafford

37 Hours per week – Permanent |   £36,153 – £39,961 per annum

Staffordshire County Council continues to undertake significant investment in its Children’s Social Care services known as Families First.

Staffordshire’s Families First is one of the largest Children’s Services in England and as a consequence there are excellent career opportunities for highly motivated and experienced staff to join a ‘Good’ Children’s Service.

You will be a qualified Social Worker, and must have a minimum of 2 year post qualification experience.  You will be responsible for managing complex cases and co-working cases with less experienced members of the team.  You will also take a lead role within the team for developing evidence based practice and sharing this with other staff.

We are looking for staff therefore who want to commit to Staffordshire’s Families First on its journey through to outstanding services for children and their families.  As Staffordshire is such a large local authority there are numerous opportunities to learn and experience working across a variety of geographical and demographical service areas.
